WASHINGTON – June 25, 2012 – Douglas Development Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of company Principal Norman Jemal to The Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Board of Trustees.

The appointment is effective June 7, 2012, for a three year term.

“The Shakespeare Theatre Company is one of the country’s leading performing arts organizations and I am extremely honored to join their Board. One need only look to the recent 2012 Tony Award they received as top Regional Theatre to appreciate their importance to theatre not only in Washington, DC, but to the whole country.” Jemal
added: “I am very humbled and excited to work with such a great Board and have the opportunity to add value to such a fantastic asset right here where I call home:  Washington, DC.”

In addition to the Shakespeare Theatre Company, Jemal currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Washington, DC Economic Partnership, an organization that promotes business opportunities throughout the District and contributes to business retention and attraction activities, and on the Board of Trustees for Ford’s Theatre. He has also served on the Board of Directors for The Little Blue House, a family development center that serves as an oasis for low-income struggling families.
